FAQs

ABOUT WOVENTON

What is WOVENTON?

WOVENTON makes blankets for everyday life — the kind you keep on the sofa, take outside, and reach for when the evening gets a little cooler.

Our designs are inspired by the landscapes and textures of the American West. We pay just as much attention to how a blanket feels as how it looks.

What makes WOVENTON blankets different?

It comes down to the details: the materials, the weight, the way the pattern is made, and how the blanket feels in your hands.

All of our designs are woven, never printed. The pattern is built into the fabric itself, giving it more depth and texture.

We also spend a lot of time testing how a blanket feels in actual use, not just how it looks in a product photo.

Where are WOVENTON blankets made?

Our blankets are designed and developed by WOVENTON and made in China with experienced textile manufacturers.

We work directly with our manufacturing partners on the materials, construction, finishing, and quality of each blanket.

Once your order is placed, it ships from our U.S. fulfillment center. Your blanket is already in the U.S. before you order it, so it doesn't have to travel internationally to reach you.

MATERIALS & QUALITY

What is WoolMist™?

WoolMist™ is WOVENTON's signature fabric system.

WoolMist™ Velvet and WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend are two of our signature fabric constructions. They use different fiber blends and have distinct feels.

WoolMist™ Velvet has a softer, smoother feel, while WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend has a higher wool content and a more pronounced wool feel.

What is WoolMist™ Velvet made of?

WoolMist™ Velvet is made from:

  • 39% Bulked Polyester

  • 21% Polyester

  • 16% Acrylic

  • 16% Nylon

  • 8% Virgin Merino Wool

The 8% Merino Wool adds a touch of natural wool, while the other fibers give it a soft, smooth feel.

WoolMist™ Velvet is a good choice if you want something soft, cozy, and easy to live with.

What is WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend made of?

WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend is made from:

  • 50% Virgin Merino Wool

  • 30% Acrylic

  • 10% Nylon

  • 10% Polyester

With 50% Virgin Merino Wool, WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend has a more pronounced wool feel, while the blended fibers keep it soft and comfortable for everyday use.

If you specifically want more wool in your blanket, this is the one to choose.

Is WoolMist™ made with real wool?

Yes.

The amount depends on which version you choose.

WoolMist™ Velvet contains 8% Virgin Merino Wool, while WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend contains 50% Virgin Merino Wool.

We list the full fiber composition on each product page so you can see exactly what you're getting.

Why does WOVENTON use different wool constructions?

Not every blanket is made to feel the same, so we use different wool constructions across our collection.

WoolMist™ Velvet contains 8% Virgin Merino Wool for a soft, smooth feel and easy everyday use.

WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend contains 50% Virgin Merino Wool for a more pronounced wool feel, while staying soft and comfortable.

Our Pure Merino Wool blankets are made with 100% Merino Wool for those who want the full experience of natural wool.

Each one has its own feel and purpose. The right choice comes down to what you want from your blanket.

Is Merino wool soft?

Yes.

Merino wool has finer fibers than many traditional wool fabrics, which gives it a naturally soft and smooth feel.

WOVENTON uses Merino wool across all three of our wool constructions. WoolMist™ Velvet contains 8% Merino Wool, WoolMist™ RICH Wool Blend contains 50% Virgin Merino Wool, and our Pure Merino Wool blankets are made with 100% Merino Wool.

The difference is in the overall construction and feel of each blanket — from the softer, smoother feel of WoolMist™ Velvet to the more pronounced wool feel of RICH and the full natural wool experience of our Pure Merino Wool blankets.

Are WOVENTON blankets soft?

That's one of the first things we look at when developing a blanket.

That said, every blanket feels a little different. Wool, woven fabrics, plush fabrics, and faux fur all have their own texture.

You'll find the specific material and construction listed on each product page.

Will WOVENTON blankets pill?

Any textile can develop some pilling over time, especially in areas that get a lot of rubbing.

We select and finish our fabrics with everyday use in mind, and some WOVENTON products use anti-pilling technology.

Following the care instructions and avoiding unnecessary friction can also help keep pilling to a minimum.

Will the faux fur shed?

A small amount of loose fiber can be normal with a new faux-fur product, especially when you first take it out of the packaging.

Our faux fur is selected for a soft feel and good fiber stability.

With normal use and proper care, the pile should stay soft and full.

Why does my blanket look slightly different from the photos?

We do our best to photograph our blankets accurately, but the color you see can vary depending on your screen and the lighting in your room.

Woven and textured fabrics can also look a little different from one angle or light source to another. That's normal.

SIZE & USE

Why is 60" × 80" the standard WOVENTON size?

We settled on 60" × 80" because it's a useful size for everyday use.

It's big enough to stretch out with on the sofa or layer over a bed, but still easy to carry around the house or take outside.

Can I use a WOVENTON blanket on my bed?

Yes.

A 60" × 80" blanket works well at the foot of a bed or as an extra layer on colder nights.

It's a throw/layering blanket, so it isn't intended to replace a full-size comforter or duvet.

Can I use my WOVENTON blanket outdoors?

Yes.

It's perfectly at home on a patio, around a campfire, at a cabin, or on a cool evening outside.

Just keep in mind that different materials have different care requirements. Check the care instructions for your specific blanket.

Are WOVENTON blankets warm?

It depends on the blanket.

Weight, fiber content, and construction all affect how warm a blanket feels.

Our heavier blankets are made for colder evenings, while lighter styles work well on their own or as an extra layer.

CARE

How do I care for my WOVENTON blanket?

Care instructions vary by product, so the best thing to do is follow the instructions listed on your product page and care label.

For WoolMist™ Velvet, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and lay flat to air dry.

For wool blankets, follow the specific instructions provided for that product.

Is WoolMist™ Velvet machine washable?

Yes.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle.

After washing, lay flat to air dry.

Can I put my WOVENTON blanket in the dryer?

No. WOVENTON blankets should not be tumble dried.

After washing, lay the blanket flat to air dry.

Avoiding high heat helps preserve the blanket's shape, softness, and texture.

Will my blanket shrink after washing?

We take shrinkage into account during production. Our blankets go through multiple washing steps before they reach you, helping us control shrinkage to within 3% under recommended care conditions.

For the best results, always follow the care instructions for your specific blanket.

How should I care for faux fur?

Wash gently and lay flat to air dry.

Avoid high heat, as it can affect the texture of the faux fur.

Once the blanket is dry, you can gently fluff the pile if needed.

Can I iron my WOVENTON blanket?

No. Do not iron your WOVENTON blanket.

High heat can damage the fibers, affect the texture, or change the appearance of the fabric. This applies to both our wool blankets and faux-fur blankets.

If your blanket has creases after unpacking or washing, lay it flat and allow it to relax naturally. Do not use direct heat to remove wrinkles.

PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Is WOVENTON worth the price?

We know there are plenty of blankets available for less.

WOVENTON is made differently — with heavier materials, woven construction, distinctive designs, and carefully finished details.

The idea is to buy one blanket you really like and keep reaching for it, rather than replacing it every season.

Is the pattern printed or woven?

All WOVENTON designs are woven, never printed.

The pattern is built into the fabric itself rather than printed onto the surface.

This gives each design more depth, texture, and dimension.

Why does my blanket feel different from an ordinary throw?

A blanket's feel isn't determined by fiber content alone.

The yarn, weave, density, finishing, and overall weight all make a difference.

That's why two blankets made with similar fibers can feel completely different.

Is WOVENTON a U.S. brand?

Yes.

WOVENTON is a U.S.-focused DTC blanket brand serving customers across the United States.

Our blankets are manufactured in China and stocked and fulfilled from our U.S. fulfillment center.

We want to be clear about both — where our blankets are made and where your order ships from.

How long will my WOVENTON blanket last?

We design our blankets to be used and enjoyed for years, not just for a season.

Made to Last is one of WOVENTON's first principles. We don't make products for quick turnover. We choose materials, construction, and designs with long-term use in mind.

How long a blanket lasts will depend on the material, construction, frequency of use, and care. Following the care instructions for your specific blanket will help keep it looking and feeling its best.

Made to Last. That's how we make blankets.

Why does my blanket feel compressed when I first open it?

Some WOVENTON blankets are packed compactly to make shipping easier.

Once you open the package, lay the blanket flat and give it some time to relax.

Plush and faux-fur styles may need a little longer to regain their natural loft.

Why does my blanket have creases when I first open it?

A few temporary creases are normal after packaging and shipping.

Lay the blanket flat and let it relax naturally.

For textured or plush blankets, gently smoothing the surface can help.

Does wool have a natural smell?

Natural wool can have a mild characteristic scent, especially when the blanket is new.

This is a normal characteristic of wool and usually becomes less noticeable after the blanket has been aired out and used.

Is wool naturally warm?

Yes.

Wool is naturally good at retaining warmth while allowing moisture to move through the fiber.

That's one reason wool has been used in blankets and clothing for generations.

Can I use a wool blanket all year?

Yes.

Wool isn't only for winter. Its natural breathability and temperature-regulating properties make it useful throughout the year.

Of course, the actual warmth depends on the blanket's weight and construction.
